Afternoon folks:).

Been on light duties today:(, When carrying some logs in yesterday I dropped 1, yep of course it landed on my foot:oops:.
No issue at the time my foot wasnt on the floor so just carried on. Well I can tell you that at 2am it came back to let me know. couple of pills and managed to get back to sleep, but its a bit painful to walk on today.
I am not one to take pills but I did last night and have had topup today.

M has gone into town with friend to look at/buy bathroom tiles, and bring home take away:D.

Hope you all survive your wind problem, is it the diet:D.

Nice, was that a Chelsey or something?
Mine would have had around that but I had a low diff for acceleration, it would top out on the revs in top gear, later cars were geared for economy except the later Coopers which had a 3.1 in I think
It was originally a City E which ran like a Swiss watch. When I put the MG Metro engine and gearbox in I kept the E gearbox. If I had kept it any longer I would have put that back in as it had started to whine in top. The E gearbox had a higher diff I think as the E was for "economy" It would have run really nicely like that. When I sold it I included the original engine and box so maybe the new owner did just that.
I'll have to check the reg to see if it is still on the road. ;)
Yours sounds as if it would have driven quite manic! Great fun!

Sorry about your foot.
Have to admit I don't usually wear steelies when doing that. I'll start now! ;)

Slippers only in the house:)
And it wasn't the toes that got it, right on the instep .

Ouch!
The mech who did the company cars back when I was a rep once dropped a Cortina auto gearbox on his instep and yes he was wearing steelies. Lucky not to break anything and limped for quite a while.
So, much sympathy. :(

Fanks :).

I have now switched to liquid pain killer:D.
Will take a couple of white pills before bed:).

Maybe I should take my mind off it with a blue 1🤔.

Just asked and apparently NO:oops:.

I'm having a blustery weekend in Wales planting trees. Nothing has blown over on my property yet, but I can see a tree down across the track that links me to the nearest road. I'll wait a bit before going to clear it because its neighbours are waving about a good deal and I don't want them falling on me.

Do you remember the story, a lot of years back, about the London cabbie (I think) who had had some sort of leg problem, maybe an amputation?
He was in perpetual pain except when he was having sex.
Maybe worth a go.;)

(I am just imagining your other half's facial expression on reading this!) 🤣 🤣 🤣

Dottir has just been on the phone, their shed has been blown over. And there have been a couple of trees, not theirs, gone over. She was speaking from the car where she has been out to see her father's female, who is undergoing palliative care. I did wonder, out loud, what she was doing driving around in this weather on a visit that was unnecessary. The old cow has been suffering for years so won't pop off just like that.
Yet now she will be coming over here with grandson who is being moved to Cyprus for the next few months for his job (RAF tech). (Admittedly this'll be the last chance to see him and give him his pressy.)

Dropped a corsair fly wheel on my hand and yes one of the toothes went right through my little finger 😠😠 still got the scars

The temptation was too much for me. The opportunity to go out and do a bit of recreational chainsawing got the better of me and I got the chainsaw started.

Once the saw fired up, I got carried away and forgot to take any pictures of what it was like before. However if you imagine the stump on the left joined to the branches on the right with that pile of logs, you'll have the general idea It's not my tree, as my property doesn't start 'til that gate you can see in the distance. So I piled the logs up as neatly as I could given that they were rather irregularly shaped lumps of timber, to give the impression someone cared. I don't want the farmer to think he's been subject to some sort of Sycamore Gap style vandalism. Relieved of its burden, the stump has tilted back upwards, so I've been able to stand the farmer's fence upright again. I wouldn't be surprised if it sprouts again in the spring at is is a goat willow and they're apt to adopt a reclining posture in the winter winds and then the branches take root where they touch the ground, so it makes a thicket if you leave them alone.

Yes, we had a neighbour who got one of those rather lightly-built sheds that look like a bargain when you see them advertised online, but they are almost as good as children's trampolines when it comes to getting airborne in high winds. His ended up about three gardens away, leaving a trail of garden tools and lengths of hosepipe. That's why I try to build a little heavier up here in the Cambrian mountains because the weather can get quite bracing.

Chicken n chips n beetroot tonight. Home made mince n veg fing yesdi from the batch eye made up. Eye fink eye has perfected it. When foring oot there was very little liquid so that be good. That means the gravy flavour stays mixed in. It has rained for the last 20 hours. Bin windy anorl. Edgar shouted when me rose felled over. Me squirrel appeared just as eye came oot me garage side door. Lucky eye had nuts in me pocket. He were on the grass at the end of me slabs. Rolled a nut to him and he gorrit but unusual happenings like this scares him. He not sure of me being at the garage. Today he was too nervous to feed from ootside me kitchen door. We hadda stand oft when he had to come close or not get brekfust.
