That's how they get away with poor build quality!!!! No one admits that actually they're pretty crap for this day and age:D

But mine wasn't built in this day and age :p

Would love to see what a Freelander will look like when its as old as my Defender :D

defender/disco specifically designed to be 4x4 vehicles,if the defender was so crap in your opinion why is it still going after 65 years, following on from the series?
the fact is a freelander is a rover 200 in disguise with a 4x4 system thats totally ****,they made it slightly better by sticking a L series or M47 lump in it but t wont do what a disco or defender will

If it had actually been fitted with a t series engine then it would have been flawless :p

I'm not slagging fenders off if you read what I've said I like the Flippin things! It's just the narrow minded that can't accept other vehicles for what they are! And just by the way having owned and driven all of them off road I can assure you a freelander is very capable even without a low range:) I've embarrassed you "proper" landy owners several times off road. They're totally differen,t built to do different jobs and both do them well! And they're both unreliable. Yours rust ours do head gaskets, I can accept that. Can you? or shall I bring the tape measure round to compare sizes!!!!:D

rubbish

it was never meant to do what tratters do :p

FREELANDERS RULE at what they do :D

Why not? You lot come into the freelander bit and slag em off! I've had two hi cap pick ups and a hybrid 90 plus built another that was featured in a magazine, I know a lot about defenders, discos, rangeys and Freelanders, I go into all the sections and help people with problems if I can! What's your excuse? Yes I take the **** and also get the **** taken! How's your rear window washer? Doh! I was gonna pipe up and help out but others already had! I've been a mechanic for twenty years so I do know a bit on the subject. I see loads of car owners and I understand how its demand lead and what legislation does to the industry, if there was no demand for a freelander they wouldn't have produced it and it wouldn't have been the biggest selling 4x4 in Europe for many years! Unfortunately the defenders days are numbered. I'll be sad to see it go. But it can't compete, they don't sell many in Europe, none in the States, the biggest market is the UK really and they're too bleeding expensive for what they are, the eu is making it hard to build them or improve them cos they aren't safe enough compared to modern cars, that's why America stopped them being imported! It'll be a sad day when they stop production but I think its coming and at present there's no replacement:( so when they've all rotted away you'll be glad to be driving a FREELANDER!:D
