Yep wife made masks for the whole,family and roped me in to modify the patterns. i seem to remember i even put the patterns and instructions on here somewhere for members who asked for them.
Wifey has always sewed so she says. She made clothes for the whole family (pre me) including dresses for her kids which their ieeinds were jealous of cos they couldn't take theirs off or put them on so easily.
After I met her she got into cross stitch but knitted most of the time too.
She does patchwork as well. I think the creativity of peeps like her and you is great.:):):) I ain't that creative!;)

Thank you, I use it as a relaxing thing. Despite some of the phrases that came out of my mouth when I was dealing with a difficult pattern. I do also woodwork but not as much. Don't get me wrong I can be very book smart too but using my hands is where I am happiest.

Had a girl in my 6th form tutor group once who made the most fantastic men's clothing. We all tried to persuade her to go to some proper college to study tailoring, but she just went off to do a foundation arts course somewhere. Amazingly she lacked confidence in her own ability. For a while it looked like she might have gone to Paris to work in a Haut Couture place.
She promised me she'd make me a suit one day!:eek:
I told her she already had the name for a clothing house. Angel Strong. You couldn't make it up!:D:D:D
We're still in touch 7 years later. :):)
Wish I had a picture of the 3 piece men's suit she made out of, guess what, Harris Tweed!;)

Tweed is an absolute ache to sew, have to press a certain way. It can stretch under a machine. It's hard work.

Having spent too long working with books in my life, and even though I have written a couple, I am happiest solving problems on cars etc. When I finally "retire" (having retired from work 7 years ago!) I hope to do a lot more and woodwork is on the list.
DIY jobs "have" to take priority, like finishing off the bathroom in France and the utility over here!

Didn't know that! I always have a Harris Tweed jacket. Love them!:):)
i just told wifey what you said and she launched into stuff about tissue paper and "Does she have an overlocker?"
You could start your own Sewing Bee!:D:D:D

Yes of course I have an overlocker, makes life easier for things. Tell her I'm debating on an industrial or a cover stitch. But I've not long bought a landy so money goes on that first.

My mom was a machinist, she had all sorts of large machines, she used to make fancy curtains
some were mega wide so feck knows what size the houses were. :eek:
