Do you have a few rads withoot valves so the boiler can dissipate heat to stop it from kettling, when gas burn stops and the lectric pump continues to pump watta in order to help cool it internally?
Nope, there is no heat-sink. But I can ensure that the rads in the bathrooms are all at MAX. I will look to see if there is a pump "overrun" setting.

Boilerer install manuals warn yer to have a few rads always open. It could be yer boiler is overheating. Or passing the point of heat 'trip' after it turns oft.
Well, I have had some thoughts on why its popping the overheat.
1. The rads never had TRV's before and are now shutting off at the set temp and so heat is not being extracted from the "core" of the system as much as it was before.
2. I changed the programming to do "CH only" for an hour first thing instead of CH + HW so this is another heat-sink not available to the system at start-up.
3. The pipework has no bypass element, but I can leave all bathroom radiators and the upper landing radiator fully open.

I dropped the boiler temp setting (from 3 to 2) last night and it did not pop. :)
The house in this mild weather is at 21.5° in the centre of the house, but herself demands a "warm" bathroom so I jack the main thermostat up a bit to ensure that room gets warm.

Afternoon folks:).

Well after having to do the courier's job, it was decided (well I did) that today was gonna be a day off, so I will be in fine fettle for the weekend's antics:D.

We have discussed sweeping the chimney and giving the central heating a test run, so that maybe on the cards for the weekend. Or I might pretend I have something urgent to do in the garage:D.

Yesterday's electrical work went ok, managed to keep the smoke and sparks in for the entire time:D.

Ms Nephew is on his way to visit. Not sure when he left UK dodging around Europe with his backpack sounds like he is having a fantastic time. Due here 20th ish. No idea how long he is gonna stay, but his father has said make sure he earns his keep;). So may be able to knock off a few more jobs pretty quick:D:D.

Weekends nearly here for the workers hang in there peeps:D.

...that I have made some changes to the Central Heating in line with advice received here on LZ and with a re-read of the Boiler installation manual (32 years ago I put this system in). :)
Both main and en-suite bathroom rads are locked fully open. I am going to check the positioning of the Overheat thermostat bulb (it can go in 2 different places).
I reckon we can fix this. :)

The pump overun stat is the only other thing i have to change regularly on my system. When it gets iffy the pipes start to bang. Only happens in the mornings when the boiler first comes on, which is why I keep it on "low" setting. Even with a new stat is still happens occasionally. ;)
