Indeed it was because of bandwidth issues as it takes up so little space. These days it is for SOTA comps and the older generation to show they still can!
I had a girlfriend whose mum during the war was employed to take down messages in Morse from the radio operators with the Resistance in France. Of course all messages were in code so it was in gobblydigook to her. The operators signaled very fast, obvs. And sometimes they had a clever thingy that they could put the message on and it automatically signaled. Once in a while, watching war progs on TV there'd be a bit of Morse, things like "Secret army", and she could tell straight away if they were accurate or not. Like riding a bike I guess!:):):)

Did he read it in morse code :p
No, but like many kids I had my favourites, he used to try and skip though the stories so he could get off, but I always spotted where he'd done it and made him go back and do it "properly".
When reading stories to my grandkids I always used to put on all the voices. and when it came to the "Just William" stories I used to fall about laughing and had to explain to them why it was funny as the stories come form such a long time ago. Still funny though. Their parents and Wifey never got a look in, they always wanted me to do it. Realised how my dad felt after a while!:):):)

Fort morse just solved murders

Probably because I can't read CW at the pace delivered but still listen anyway!!
Maybe if you recorded it and played it back a bit slower somehow? There are music progs you could use!;)
It'll be like language learning, you'll gradually speed up. Some native speaker peeps say I speak French faster than they do. Helps to be a bit drunk and/or angry!;)

Just watching a recorded "Wheeler Dealers", a new one.
One with a Mk1 Mini 850.
Sez there are only 81 on the roads.
Eighty feckin one????????!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Jeez!.
My first two car were these. Bought the first before I passed my test, back in '73.
In fact I took the best bits off one and built a good one on the other.
They paid £10k for the one they bought, with no clutch cylinders at all.
Jeez yet again!!
Sold my Mini City E converted into a Cooper look alike and go alike a couple of years ago for £1k. (mind you could have sold it over and over again and was a rusty wreck!)
De Luxe '65. didn't have the starter button on the floor like mine did.
I still have the rubber toggle switch extensions off that first one of mine!
Happy days!:):):)

..,. have finished all the electrical work in the noo utility reinstall.
Thank feck.:):):)
Spent time replacing 1980s white plugs and switches with noo stainless ones.
Most of the tails were too long so had to be cut back.
Fecking annoying when I cut one back a bit too far, then removed the insulation and tried to twist it together with it's friend and it snapped off. I spose single strand copper wire that has been immobile for nearly 40 years gets brittle.
Still a bastid though.:mad::mad:
Still, done now.:):)

Hey ho, hey ho, a-plumbin we will go. :(:(

Got a call from a neebs today the power went off in the lower half of there house & had a smell of burning probably caused by a loose wire half of them were slack ffs:eek: could have been a disaster...

Lectrics is steam powered. When yer let the steam oot it stops wukkin. Unusual to see coal coming down the wire. Steam pressure must be too high.

Morning All :D
A little lie-in today :)
Heating did NOT fail this morning. :)
Now here's a silly thought, I wondered if it was tripping the boiler overheat device because all of the rads now have TRV's and so will shut off and not take heat out of the circulating water.
But, the boiler should sense the heat in the core is not diminishing and switch off when it gets to its set temperature.
So last night I dropped the boiler stat down a bit (from 3 to 2) and today the boiler didn't trip and the house was lovely and warm.
This needs more investigation I think.
Anyway, you all have a lovely day. :D

Do you have a few rads withoot valves so the boiler can dissipate heat to stop it from kettling, when gas burn stops and the lectric pump continues to pump watta in order to help cool it internally?
