When first married to my ex, one of those pariffin heaters, the big rectangular ones was the only reasonable way we had of keeping warm as we daren't turn on more than one bar of the leccy fire.Nah. Esso Blu. For those useless paraffin heaters that we will be rummaging through our sheds for this winter. Anyone remember the stick on bullet holes for yor windscreens?
We sat on the floor huddled in front of it with a duvet wrapped round us watching black and white telly, cos we couldn't afford colour neither. Rented bungalow, damp, drafty and with no heating other than electric.
So the paraffin heater made a big difference, once I prised it out of my dad's hands!
Bullet holes came in two types ones for the body work and ones for the windscreens.
I remember them being demonstrated on Blue Peter wih JN and/or VS or both driving Mini(s) with them stuck on around the studio to a background of machine gun and rifle fire.
