No, it has never had a damper in there. Must have cost me a fortune in heating over the years.Does it not have the damper in place already ?

That's a shame. Best to keep yourself safe though. How are you apart from coffeeless.Sadly no, we only have a kettle. There are kettles available for the disabled that are fixed and rotate on an axis that we will have to get if things don't improve beyond where I am currently.
It’ll likely be blocked with a birds nest anyway. I’ve never swept a blocked ie fire place blocked that didn’t have twigs etc raining down. Some just stuff a pillow up, when was it swept last ?
I was going to say you can get chimney balloonsSome just stuff a pillow up, when was it swept last ?
What about a coffee pod machine like a nespresso - too fiddly?Sadly no, we only have a kettle. There are kettles available for the disabled that are fixed and rotate on an axis that we will have to get if things don't improve beyond where I am currently.
Not once in my 32 years here as it has been an unused fireplace. Some just stuff a pillow up, when was it swept last ?

I am struggling today but hopefully just a temporary glitchThat's a shame. Best to keep yourself safe though. How are you apart from coffeeless.
Not something I would want to have as you are tied into buying those pods. What about a coffee pod machine like a nespresso - too fiddly?

Was thinking more of the central heating pump as W gets so cold, the freezer, provided it is not off for too long if left closed ought to be OK but you do have a point about the fridge. And we do tend to use electric lights quite a bit though we do have lovely old oil lamps and even two Tilleys.Genny'll be good for keeping the freezer and fridge ticking over, so that's not a waste ...
You are not the only one to feel that. I have only been there a few times but I too get the hairs on my neck creeping up a bit.Glencoe was a very emotional place when we went, you could 'feel'' the whole area ...
No, you're not the only one.Thought I was the only one that remembers those. A Tiger in your Tank. Esso?
Go on then, sing along...Thought I was the only one that remembers those. A Tiger in your Tank. Esso?
Worrabout green shield stamps, remember them? Think they morphed into Argos or something. No, you're not the only one.
Maybe but wouldn't really work with instant coffee, sadly.Do you have a coffee machine? Can get coffee without using a kettle.
Why did i think you had done all this already?Morning All
A tad chilly this morning.
Going to stick some crud-buster in the CH system today, let it run for a week and then drain it all down next Sunday.
Radiators all off and powerflushed then new TRV's on the Monday & Tuesday.
Well, that's the plan, anyway.
Have a nice day!
