Blimey, just had to sit through a 3 hour teams meeting on safeguarding children.. didn't like the woke aspect
I have to do those as part of my work too. I can usually do quite well on the multiple choice test at the end by always choosing the answer which is the most institutionally brutal and which accords the greatest power to state agencies.

Day to day experience over the course of my 60-odd years suggests that state agencies are not particularly competent, and are certainly not benign forces in the lives of vulnerable young people. In some ways, being a bit more 'woke' about their limitations might be good idea.

There were a few on the call who had done it before and knew all the acronyms etc.. one piped up about 'looked after children' and was immediately shot down.. you can't say that anymore, you've always got to put children first!! So now it's 'children who are looked after' FFS

....and from the unintended humour department today we have......
I bought wifey a new 3-D wind sculpture where all the segments are arranged in a vertical circle and are linked to each other and so produce a mesmeric pattern like a creatures maw.

She has just announced in a loud voice for all to hear "Ooh your things going in and out like mad".
To which I replied you "You shouldn't really say that with your back door wide open".
There then followed a fit of girlish giggles, two 'out of control' ladylike little farts and some teary eyes from herself.

It has made my day. Such a classic. :p

....that as predicted/expected on her first time out of the gate as the person that gets her kids up and takes them to school from her new flat the ex DIL failed and the kids were over 45 minutes late for school.
Her excuse?
The kids didn't sleep till 11 PM because there are no curtains in their bedroom. Who's fault is that?
And...... there was a problem at work so she took the kids there first.
My Son told her to sort her priorities out and the kids come first.
This is going to be a car-crash.
IF she carries on like this then the school will start complaining that the kids are late. What then?
Will they call in social services?

It might be a good idea to hope so, then this would strengthen his case that she is an unfit mother.
But it'll prolly take a bit more than that.:(:(:(
