my fender may be slow, noisy, rusty as an old gate, uncomfortably hot in the summer and dont get me going on winter tempretures, badly built ( lets be honest here most car companies manage to get better over time) and generally just a bit manky;
BUT
I would rather have to push it than drive (or be seen in) a freelander, stop pretending, you know you want a real land rover.
saying that, I'd rather be pushing a freelander than driving anything japanese.

I would sooner have a capable 4x4 rather than a flashy handbag with blingy bits..

Tratters are so good it doesn't really matter, they could go off road with the pig driving, unlike Freelanders
