Just read the email from Britney Ferries telling us that our crossing has been cancelled as the fecking ship will be staying in dry dock for a week longer, right in the middle of which we were off and our visas start.

The crops in the fields behind Wimblowdriver Towers are suffering badly from wood pigeon and crow damage. The bird population has increased significantly over the last couple of years - probably due to them being better protected by law. The farmer has been using gas fired bangers on timers, fireworks (which seem to fail after the first bang), flags and spinning brightly coloured things which look like big eyes to scare them. With some but not full effectiveness. Yesterday I spotted the farmer driving up the trackway, he got out and gave a solitary pigeon both barrels of his shotgun. That worked

Ive had a couple of l200s one was a week old barbarian & the misses reversed out the drive way into
the old stone wall & destroyed the tub/rear door so bye bye l200
bit light on the rear endan a wee bit bouncy.
Bought an older hilux surf & she got a pug 306 estate.

Oh don't worry we are old sweats at all this, so yes they have given us a cabin, they rang us cos we have dogs and disability needs, We get 12 hours on the ferry which is longer than we are used to and having done the Google maps, the journey south will only be 1/2 an hour longer.
TBH amazed they managed to fix us up so well. And the price hasn't changed as they promised to keep it at the original.
So all round, quite happy! and relieved!
