So....
up early and off to that there Lunnen to pick up the passports with their visas in em.
We felt like we had passed an exam and got our certs!
And amazingly, of all the days and all the times they could have gone, when we got to the top of the queue who should be next to us picking theirs up?
The two nobs we met last time!
Se we were polite and had a little chat. They are now off to the Dordogne
, to flog their place, as they "cannot cope with Brexit." I pointed out that now we had the EU dogs' passports and our 6 months visas, we were no, or v little, worse off than before. There is more to it. Don't think they had integrated v well. Maybe all their little ex-pat friends were selling up and they didn't want to be out there lonely.
But it is true that the average Brit who buys a place over there only keeps it for 7 years. They have had theirs since 2004, so a fair innings.
Lovely day wasn't it? So we stopped on the way back for a bevvy in a pub in the New Forest.
Good thing we know all the back roads, the traffic was fecking awful otherwise.
Saw a Discovery on a spec lift with its rear wheels riding on those funny coloured ones they use for electric cars.
Didn't even know Discos can be all electric now. Not that I could as i don't give a feck about new cars.
But still funny.
Also signs over the "smart" motorway. "keep to the left hand lanes and only use the others for overtaking".
Imagine if on a normal Mway they said "drive up the hard shoulder and only use other lanes to overtake"?
Madness, but
this is what they are doing.
