Not me. Tole I'm to fook oft back where he came from an I weren't sellin to him at any price. Dick. :D
I do understand this. You felt insulted.
But at the end of the day it is just like the bloke on wheeler dealers or tother prog with the git who never takes his cap off.
You offer a grand under the asking price and see what happens.
Sayin "that's all I've got" is just a bit harder version of the same bid. You can either see it for what it is, and call their bluff, or get the hump and possibly lose a sale.
At the end of the day, "Are you a serious buyer or just a time waster?" is the question to ask. Then say nothing, just wait.
They'll either offer more money or insult the vehicle at which time you walk away.
(I spent too long on "The psychology of selling" type courses when I was younger, before I knocked it on the head and became a teacher!);)

Storm is starting up, very windy oot. We went to the pub for our dinner I had a nice steak pie
viw all the trimmings. Driving back home I had to swerve as there was a tree partly over the road
the branches hit the roof & the misses nearly swore  Called the local plod in case it comes
right over & someone else smacks into it.

I pretty sure they had the money but they tried it on so I chased them I bet they were right pizzed off
driving home lol
You must have been confident you could sell the car at the price you wanted.;)
That particular move is a little dangerous and they picked their "mark" badly with you!
With softer marks it often works, turning on the "sympathy" move!!
TBH when buying I just find as many faults as I can but reassure the seller that I'll look after the car once i get it.
This is how I got quite a lump off the Disco 2.
But when buying from a garage I take the one they just cannot be fecked to fix. I just offer cash and no come back.;)
Last one I bought like that was a fab Rover 420 turbo diesel one of only 20 in the country, it was kind of experimental with a fly by wire injection pump. It went like the clappers. Bought it off the guy with no MOT nothing, "Spares or repair", ran it for ages then gave it to my son in law who loved it to bits until some dick hit him up the rear and wrote it off. :(

Thats a shame about the rover I had a couple of rovers a metro 6R4 copy, metro gti, 2 montego turbos
All great motors apart from the first one it was a bucket lol
I always know what my motors are worth and all the faults so theres no chance of pulling the wool, its
not the first time ive chased peeps and not sold them a car. I used to have a short fuse lol

I once took Wifey in it to Ringwood coach stop, to catch the coach to London for work, as I used to do a lot, at stupid o'clock in the morning. As she was getting out of the car I noticed she didn't have her glasses on her face. I mentioned it and she was sort of upset, she could have managed without but it would not have been ideal, I just asked her where she'd left them and said "I'll get them" other people at the coach stop just laughed and said, "He'll never make it before the coach leaves".
I fecked off at high speed and back again, I got there before the coach even got there. No one could believe it. That fecker really moved.
My s-i-l had only just replaced the turbo on it and was towing a trailer with gardening equipment on it, big mower etc, some idiot stuffed the whole lot into the back of him so badly that it couldn't be easily straightened out.:(:(:(
I always point out all faults to any buyer and stick to my price. Last thing I want is come back.
In France if you sell a car the buyer has 14 days to find any faults and come back for their money, which actually ain't a bad rule!;)

Done the rest ov me hooverin.

Morning All :D
Life can be so unfair; while I was cleaning my teeth herself was awoken by a call from one of those scam call centres in India. :(
Very breezy out there, but no frost today and a tropical 7° out there. Mind you, the wind is like a razor blade and makes your eyes water.
Have a splendid day. :D
