No we are both givers and you are a takerI ain’t @Broke Again or @kurtjohnson10
Paying a deposit? Thas asking for trouble. Here's a heart-warming story.
A few months ago we agreed to get our soffits and fascias (wood) replaced with plastic, wood coloured. So we did the usual faffing about, got 4 companies to quote etc.
Decided on one and paid a £2k deposit.
Today we got a call telling us the company has had a "management buy out" but not to worry, all would go as planned.
They had to send us a letter as they have had to change the VAT number.
Just read it. Bit more detail. The company actually went into administration due to Covid and one bloke bought the assets and not only took on the suppliers debt but is also honouring all contracts. So he will be out of pocket to begin with as he will see nothing of our deposit but is still doing the job for the same amount.
So we could have been told, "Guess what, we've gone bust and you've lost your deposit"
Wow! Lucky or what?
Thought i heard ...tear along the dotted line this may have been for something elseYou do know we drive on da left
