Remember to keep a low profile on the way up!!
What a lovely trip!Off on a bit to annoy @kevstar area..
Fort William here we go
Not been ter screwdfix ferra few weeks now. Nor wix, bnq, omebase or toolstation.
Next instalment of the great caravan motor-mover saga.
I was on the phone at 9.30 and it was answered by the wench who sent me on the wild goose chase to the wrong company. I immediately stated who I was and said that to say I was very angry about the situation was an understatement, she dissolved into tears saying that they always fit that make and she didn't know etc. etc. and put me on hold. The workshop manager then came on the line reprimanding me for upsetting his staff! I suggested he took a moment to think how upset I was about how I had been treated by his department but if this is what it took to get through to the manager then I am pleased. (This old dear is no push-over!)
Eventually he came up with the suggestion that as one his workshop managers was going to a hospital appointment at my little town's cottage hospital at 11am today so he would ring him and ask him to call on me after he had finished. I accepted this. ( It is to be noted that our cottage hospital does not really do any appointments except for local minor injuries, physio, small ex-rays and blood tests, so he must be local to here!! )
He came, was really pleasant and did say that this is happening every day, all day - things are not good in the after sales department - penny pinching in every way. I asked if he had read the Trustpilot comments and his reply was 'no, I find it too upsetting but I have been told about them from others'. He did elaborate but I don't think it is fair for me to put it here.
He spent some time 'playing' with the thing to sum up the problem and then showed me that one of the wheels on the van was 'locking up' when the mover engaged.
He has now gone back to base to report his findings and to arrange a mobile visit with tools, jacks etc. as he agreed that like it is it is impossible to move the van anywhere.
Further details will be reported on if and when he re-appears. I hope he doesn't let me down and if he lives local to me that could be a real help.
Seem to remember Tom has to be somewhere tomoz.Don't do it, there's plenty of time to wait until you are feeling better.
Great to see a burd on site....that all of the patio slabs are now down.
We have a solution for connecting the rain guttering and have implemented it.
Tomorrow is guttering & grout day.
Then I am done with the garden makeover. He cannot afford any more materials and Tom is off on another job.
My son will have to do some for himself if he wants it done at all.
All that remains is to put sleepers in the ground, rotavate the lawn area and cover it with topsoil and turf and establish the far end border for the trees and the area for the kids trampoline.
My job? Nope, don't think so.
