This is what has happened to him.
And yes, when it came to the one done for the vehicle in Harwich, he prolly did it standing in the garage in Poole. But then again maybe not. The guy doing it right in front of me, on his tablet said "I could be sitting on the beach doing this, as long as I put my code in within 15 seconds of being told to."
Perhaps he was bullsh!tting just a bit. I wouldn't know!
Fink he was telling the truth. He will be linking via his internet connection to get to the database so in theory could be anywhere when doing this. The ministry may limit traffic to uk ip addresses only. Yer never know.

I have seen them do mine. They pull a card oat their pocket and swipe it in at the start. Check the vin and mileage and enter it. The mot certificate lists the garage id number so i assume they enter that anorl unless its automatically linked to their own id.

All could be done remotely but the rules will state the peep entering the test must be doing the test, and at that time. Get caught doing anything wrong and eye would bet yer card number stops working. And so it should be. A lot of peeps use the mot as a minimum their car needs to meet once a year in order to continue driving it. With required maintenance after that ignored. Eye see comments on ere like it can wait, when really it shouldn't.

Does it need a bloody mobile phone to be able to see the pic or does it have its own screen?
I'd be looking at one if it is the latter!
It is a camera which plugs into a battery powered wifi box supplied wivvit. You use yer phone to connect to it via wifi to see the camera picture. Yer can also use an eyepad anorl. Eye int gottid one of them but it, or any other tablet screen poking type device like that, that yer can install an app on, and has wifi on it, should wuk. Eye will be puttin up a fred about it as its cheep and value for money. Just need ter film some eggsample vid's.

I look forward to your thread on this. (wish there was a thumbs up)

Right, Landy peeps.
Gotta mate. Used to nice motors, Porsche, Aston, Mercedes. Wants to move down West but the pot holes in the roads are upsetting his groove.
'Ere Turks, what do you recommend?' says he. Well, it's a toe in the water for him and his budget is, shall we say, realistic. I didn't suggest the mighty Tratter for obvious reasons (overpriced, could be better (if you don't already adore them)).
So, I'm thinking a D2 might be a good start, but I really think an FL2 would be more to his liking. Reliability and easy repair, particularly electricals, are paramount. I have no experience of either, so honest, non-partisan recommendations are invited. I'll pass em on unedited.
I've already passed on a few editions of my Landy mags and recommended coming on ere.
Wanna help him out?
Cheers
If yer gorra diagnostic device that can reads all the phooters on yer car, then diagnosing problems is much easier. Yer can get this for a FL2. We also have the manwell and circuit diagrams. All the history ont web of peeps fixing them for over 10 years anorl. They have typical issues if not looked after like the haldex pump on the rear diff failing. But overall they is the most reliable of all the modern (last 30 ish years) lr products. Buy the best yer can. Looked after and newer.

Why dun't he want a biscuit tin ont wheels?
