I don't think the results from the tumble dry cycle will be as low though
So it did cost more to dry than to wash then. Did think it might. Makes sense to hang it on a dryer thingy then, if at all possible.The tumble dry cycle is now complete and I have to admit that this was an interesting little experiment.
The dry cycle cost just 18 pence, I was expecting it to be much higher than that.
Choosing an A rated machine was a good choice I think.
I only really use the dryer during the winter months as I use the solar dryer when I can.
Why, you can't not have one so why worry about it?I need to plug me fridge/freezer in to me power monitor for 24 hours next and see how much that's costing me to run.
But maybe I can get a smaller one or a newer more efficient one.
We only bought our first ever tumble dryer last year. Before that we just used a clothes horse type thing. But then you have to spend money on central heating or summat to get things dry. Wifey likes a warm house so for us it wasn't an issue.. but this isn't ideal for all.

You'll lose more in the costs oof replacing than you'll save I'd a thort. just keep the freezer full, (of bread if you don't want to freez owt else) and the edge seals clear of ice. and maybe treat the fridge bit to a new seal too.But maybe I can get a smaller one or a newer more efficient one.
My meter has two readings. Day and night. Night is e7. My meter counts separate readings but i have been told theres meters out there which are e7 but only have one reading. For them to offer e7 discount periods they must either count lectric slower during e7 periods or report meter readings quite frequently or at the stop/start of e7. It makes sense to get peeps to use energy at night where there's loads spare. I wired up a mechanical timer count down switch so i can put things on at night in the knowledge they will charge then switch oft after the defined time eye set.

Me dads temp sensor broke and gave a warm signal all the time. His freezer were near enuff running permanent so it was costing loads to run. He only realised when the lectric bill was far too high fer several periods of bill measuring. Tis a good idea to know where yer p*ssin energy up wall.I know, but it's nice to know if the fridge is inefficient or not. Yep eye remember the leccy shop. Yer could buy stuff and pay ferrit monthly on yer leccy bill.
