Many thanks
I have some "upgrades" on their way from other Chinese suppliers (fingers crossed).
A Machifit cuniform toolpost and a set of carbide cutters/holders to go with.
I seem to have about 5-thou runout in the chuck jaws, and I don't know if that is good/bad/indifferent really. I know a 4-jaw independent chuck can be adjusted to remove all but spindle run-out and a 3-jaw can be given a gentle "tap".
I suppose I should take the chuck off and run a DTI gauge on the inside of the MT3 bore to see what element of "off" is where?
All new to me this turning malarkey. One of my mates said "what do you need one for?" and TBH I have no answer, I just wanted one. **Boy's-Toy's** is my only excuse/answer.
