.....that I fixed our stoopid VAX yesterday.
Stripped it down - to the "sear spring retainer keeper" - although I didn't do it blindfold in flying gloves, tested everything I could with a meter. Wifey was being a bit stroppy so I made her hold the probes to various things, got the motor running, cleaned it to within an inch of its life, and Lo and Behold, it now runs.
No flipping idea why it wasn't before.
Anyway, it was a lot simpler than the Hoover, the PCB only had a condenser on it, which I didn't test, thinking about it.
At least the commutator didn't need cleaning!
Happy days till it breaks again!
