HR is ALWAYS on the company's side, no point in employing them if not!
Both I and @Bobsticle have posted on this sort of topic before as we both have had run ins with management.
You need to get tooled up, which means doing your own research, both of employment law and into how the rest of the company's staff is being treated, as well as the new Covid regulations. Only good union reps are much use, and I have only ever known one who was, so don't worry about not being in one.

PS, if it's the company not him, try and make the point, does he want to carry the can for the company if this blows up in his face? If he's a bully very often he'll be a coward as well. I have found there are two sorts of bullies, cowards and psychopaths. With the latter you have to be more logical. but they hate being made a public spectacle of. and yes I have had to deal with both types!

They never used them.
The bomb aimer, at low level couldn't use them as they were being shaken about too much. Low level flight is too bumpy, and they had to hold onto the bomb release toggle as well. So they developed a coupla ways of doing it, but simply they had a bit of cord tied to two bolts or rivets either side of the perspex which the aimer held to his nose, so it made a V. He had previously made marks on the Perspex, with a chinagraph pencil. There were other similar home made devices. When these marks lined up with the two towers, as he knew his eyes were at the right distance from the Perspex to give him the correct position, he released the bomb.

one bomb aimer actually did use the Dann sight, but the others gave it up as they could not hold themselves in position.

Plenty of shift work here in the distilleries. They are great shifts that would suit you just fine ;)

06.00-14.00 one week, then 22.00-06.00 the next followed by 14.00-22.00 the next and repeat :)

When they are going flat out you could finish 06.00 on Saturday morning then be out 14.00-22.00 Sunday
