This is new then cos my Pro 520 was a one off buy and i got a whole pile of LR models on it as well as both Jag and Obd2, which I used this summer to diagnose a fubar lambda sensorm on wifey's Pluriel..
Sounds like this paying for constant updates thing is a new wrinkle. Once you have got it for a vehicle that is a few years old, I fail to see what updates it would need. After all the vehicle is no longer being made.

so don't understand why you thought you had to pay for this.
Too late for you now, unless you bought it online in which case you could return it within the 14 days, but I could get mine out tomoz and check to see if it covers Freelander, if you like. But pretty sure it does as it even covers Discos back as far as they went with electronic stuff. It covers my TD5 and my D1 V8.
Hawkeye and Nanocom are much more expensive and as far as I know only cover one model. But I do know they do more stuff.
Anyway, best of luck with it!
