Hertfordshire Lanes?????

Right Ryder it'll be no good for tomorrows efforts but I have a semi plan for getting other vehicles out of the ****e similar to this may require a bit of thinking but I have the basic idea in my head I'll run it by you tomorrow or when I see you next.
 
You will see the pictures, but what I think would be best would be if someone gets there as early as possible with Ben and stabilises the vehicle. Then someone with a 90 like Jai's or s3 like Brett's could go in closer with a winch on the front (strop secured just incase to their towbar) and gently pull the disco back towards them using strops to support the front end.
 
Ryder has my kit, which is Hi-lift, Pro-comp strap, shackles, shovel, jack, waffle boards, bow saw.
I'm happy for it to be used again tomorrow.
I'm available tomorrow night, but just me, no Landy. I can get there in my car, or ride with Jai/Kev, whoever.
I can be ready to leave Luton at 6.00 or if someone wants to pick up my kit from Ryder I could go straight from the office at be at the lane by about 6.30.
I'll keep an eye on the forum and see the situation tomorrow.
 
Right! I'm done at work now! Massive thanks to Ryder and Landroverjack for today's work!

Hopefully ben and BoB can stabilise the vehicle enough tomorrow morning! Thing is it's raining yet again! So it will again be very difficult to get any traction on the muddy part...
 
If it's you jai, then you'll probably get to within 25-35 feet of the back of it safely!! With a bigger vehicle and a less experienced driver, I doubt you'll get it any further than the corner where the hard standing stops...
 
A decent spotter will get you close enough Jai. Traction's a bitch though. Plus if the motor does slip you end up pointing the wrong way into a fast running bit of water.

I wish i wasn't stuck at work all week. I would have liked to have offered help and gained some experience of a difficult recovery.

No problem for our motors in daylight, but dodgy in the dark. I wouldn't fancy it.

I've always found the lane really good for traction, but then it has been dry when I've done it, it does look a bit slippy now it's wet.

:cool:Understatement of the week! Plus the rain has made the track narrower than before
 
someone should be thinking in terms of lights... if it goes to the evening, as I believe it will, then you are going to have to have some decent light to work with
