I don't think it was all that bad. but certainly not for somone on their own on road tyres.

If it was as slippery as when we did that recovery, I wouldn't have driven it for sure. I'm no chicken as you know, but there comes a time to say no.

It it's height of summer, bone dry, then there's no reason why doing it on road tyres would be a problem. Only issue is ramp breakover over the tree.

Ok, tried editing the video today, but my PC isn't upto it and kept crashing. So I've uploaded a few unedited clips of the day.

See loads of room the video proves it! the tree furthur down tht sticks out at 45 to the drivers head was tight tho

The video was of the wide bit, there's enough width obviously, it's the sideslope that comes into play if it's wet that's the issue on that lane.

Series 1 with the roof off and windscreen down and I'll drive under the tree.:D

OK Gypsy Lane!:

I'm sure wthe winch challenge thing was over exagerated and the person telling the story knew no better and thought it was what happens Greenlaning. Now they know it was seriously wrong and could cost us all the lane and possibly their car i'm sure there should be no more off piste from them.

beds have replyed to my email:

first they say Don't worry the lane is not TRO'd nor do they have any plans to TRO it in the near future.

There is a new gate which was funded by centre parcs which is only to be used in emergency closures. Read innto that what you will.

Furthur more centre parcs have given Beds more funding to sort the Byway out i.e level it where its erroded which will take place sometime within the next financial year.

Been up there and had a look myself.gate is open but does seem strange to put an expensive gate designed for horses to secure an area. surely 4x4 are safer than horses. i do hope center parcs are not trying it on. theyve managed to buy all that land with no fuss and i believe they have bought the garden center for car parking. lets hope it stays open for all those who use it properly. thanks for getting some feedback on it.

Sorry pictures a bit dark and small but it was dark when I went up there so thought I'd take a picture of the new gate. Does anyone know how to put full size pictures on here and not thumbnails.
