Most Cam Belts are recommended to be changed at about the 80-100K mark. I hope yours was done 80K ago and even if it was it's due another. I'd seriously look at the oil leak that you've got too. We've got a big trip coming up and breaking down in the middle of Salisbury Plain would not be funny.
I changed the belt on the new engine as a matter of course. 70K on the engine and unknown history. If I were you I'd have changed Belts, all of the oils- engine, gearbox, diffs, swivels, brake fluid, power steering, greased everything, new anti-freeze, had the wheels off and checked the brakes.
A little bit of time and money now could save you a fortune later. Especially with a motor that has no history.
Even history doesn't always mean a thing. Mine came with a stack load of history, but i check it anyway and found that the dealer must have serviced it with his eyes closed.

Unless its knocking and slack (which it aint) it don't need touching. Use a good quality oil in it tho coz they don't like the cheap ****e. They run quite hot as you know and the better the oil the longer they last. Personally I think its like you drinking supermarket cheap booze coz your tight and having the hangover from hell and a bad guts instead of quality hooch and a mellow thump in the head the next day ;)

It always amazes me what corners a main stealer will cut on a service schedule to get more work thru the door!
I might be fussy but I always do the lot for peice of mind :p

Will you do an engine survey for me then?

One of my mates worked at a dealers and it's all about getting the most vehicles through the workshop. i said how can you get the vehicles right in the time you are given to do the job, answer we don't he said. hope for the best and if a vehicle comes back apologize and correct the problem.

Exactly the reasons my mate started his own garage mate. Fingers crossed aint good enuf for me.

One other thing... not being used to landys I got a little concerned about the wobble one the front wheels. Tried to check the steering bushes earlier but apart from lifting one wheel off the floor and moving it from side to side didn't really know how to check it. Hints would be useful!
