Hertfordshire Lanes?????

Don't you just Love Land Rover. They have modified the switchgear now I knew there was a difference between white plugs and black plugs but they have only madit it impossible to fit an early wash wipe stalk to a 1990 model bracket! Bastids Now I need some security bits to swap the housings over!

A very pleasant afternoon's laning. Met 2 new guys in a couple of defenders. Did the lanes around Offley, Whitwell & Datchworth.

When we met them at Offley, one jumped out and said "You must be Spyderman" I must have a bit of a reputation around these parts.
 
I was surprise at the changes to the local lanes, haven't done them in ages. The one at Offley is great, it used to be really tight and scratchy, now cut back with some really good terrain.

Always seem to go far afield, but there's some great stuff right on our doorsteps.

Sorry I missed this one guys I was up for it until I got stuck into my dash. Sorted Spydermans start switch out as a temp measure. Borrowed Spydermans security bits and rebuilt a stalk set. Collected a td5 fuel tank from one of Spitfiremk1uks old customers very nice guy indeed rushed around as all the cash points seemed to be broken closed or ripped off the wall Luton Typical!

Anyway got back and hit my dahboard and the rebuilt stalk set. Put all my dash panels back in bar Mud console. The rebuilt stalk set isn't playing ball need to open it again and have a look see no indicators or wash wipe (wash wipe buggered internals could repair but will fit another and fix as a backup) Yet to rip apart the indicators. Ordered a set of stalks online and some service parts that are well over due.

Amazing how much the dashboard shields noise. Also fitted a hand throttle cable ready to hook up to the pump. Should be ready for Wales Soon!

Spydermans Diff oil was Oh Err Nice! I guess them there fords and mud found its way in!
 
Ken there are a few around your way I'm sure somone can show you some over the next couple of weeks. I don't mind as soon as my stalks come I'd be happy to show y ou a few.

just this morning i was reading through some of your posts to see if i could find any info on local lanes, i then found 1 saying about a lane just of the 505 near hitchin. so i called up my mate (in the blue defender) and told him i know of some different lanes to try.He then jumped in his truck and headed on over. After finding the lane we got a good wey up it, and then we ran in to you guys. After seeing your series 3 with its massive 900's on it, it clicked i thought i wonder if that is spyderman of landyzone, and it just so happens it was. So we asked if we could tag along with him and some other guys and away we went. done loads and loads of lanes and nearly all of them i didnt even know existed even after marking them on my os map lol anyway thanks for letting us tag along it was a good afternoon and hopefully we can meet up again and do some more. mike (red 90)

White deer? Not even heard of them before! :D:D The show was good and got lots of freebies awesome advice from experienced overlanders. Listened to a talk and slideshow about some people doing 5 month tours on motorbikes.. Guess how much they charge for Calais to Beijing not including the bike? I've also now got a mobile storage systems drawer (really nice drawer that fits between wheelboxes) and a dog guard so I'm happy :)
 
Ah I got it, Yep sounds like a plan I think Beaker may well have the week off will need to see. I'd rarther do snowdonia later after the nationals shoot up in the works car nice an quick

coool essex sounds good to me mate. cant do next saturday as i have other plans that day and sunday im off to devils pit to see some poople distroy their very expensive landrovers :D the following weekend im away doing some off roading on the motorbike but im free after that. also would there be room for another landy on the essex trip if you go as my dad has got a 90 and he would like to come out for a jolly if thats ok? but only if there is room. cheers. mike.
