Jai if it had a winch fitted why wouldn't they have used it earlier?

I can be there 8am tomorrow if you want. Got to pick up my brother at 5.30pm in cambridge so can't be there all day...

Cheers for the offer! We will be there at 10am ish.... As it's the earliest tine we can get there.. All help will be appreciated!!

I'm teaching tomorrow night, so I'm out I'm afraid.
I need a new clutch slave cylinder, which I've ordered last night. Working all week during the day, free Thursday night onwards and all weekend. Good to do anything once I've got my clutch sorted or happy to ride shotgun from Thursday night onwards.

If its the lane with the tree, traction is really good, hard surface all the way. The problem on that lane is apart from the tree, that it's really tight, certainly not for the faint hearted because of the drop into the stream on one side and not being able to move away from the edge because of the trees on the other side. If he's cocked up and dropped a wheel over the edge, he's in a world of pain. Recovery is going to be a bitch. The drop down to the stream is probably 12' in places.

I can only think that's what he's done, otherwise he wouldn't be stuck. I can't see that a tractor would have any chance of getting down there, unless it can be recovered from the field on the other side of the trees.

Well spotted spyderman! That's exactly what's happened... Except the traction is shocking once the hard surface runs out 100m or so before we got stuck!

Yeah we think the only way is thru the field...

PM me your number and location and I can be there at 10am. I only have road tyres on atm but if its a hard surface as Spyderman suggests I'm sure I can help. I suggest you don't ask the landowner first as this may give him more of an argument to close the lane if he has tractors and 4x4s all over his field.

You have a valid point and we are running out of lanes

Can you give me some more info?

1) Did you drive the lane in the same direction as in my picture, as in the stream in on your left?
2) Is he before or after the tree?
3) If he's before the tree anyone looking to recover him would have to reverse over that tree, even I haven't tried that. I'm not sure that would even be possible as there's a big bit of tree root that you drop off of on the way down, maybe with waffle boards. Reversing down with the drop behind you is certainly a sphincter moment.
4) How many wheels and which ones are off of the track and over the edge?
5) I'm thinking if it's just one or two N/S wheels, the answer would be to jack it up on a hi-lift and push it sideways off of the jack to hopefully get the wheels back on the track, might take a few goes, with waffles ideally to stop it slipping back.
6) The field IIRC is much higher up than the lane with a really steep bank. I'm not sure that a recovery from the field would be possible, unless there's a perfect gap in the trees and the bank isn't too steep.
7) Do not go into the field without permission.

OK...

so a quick recap....

The Disco is sitting on the edge of the top of the bank against some trees....

having tried to use a hand puller to pull both ends out we believe the safest exit is through the adjoining field. A fressh pair of eyes may think differently but it is pretty sticky and slippy down there and narrow....

Who is available tomorrow morning to lend an eye/hand... all offers appreciated.

Add your names to a list below and i'll PM you my mobile number.

Thanks.
