sorry jobs i wana do are, discs and pads, shocks and springs, welding in boot floor and footwells not checked sills yet, swivel pin seals and bearings, wheel bearings all round also wana get props checked got a bit of a judder about 60 but comes and goes.
i. Discs and pads are no problem once you can afford them, fitting is not a big issue. Buy one axle set at a time but do not change just one wheel, always do a complete axle. (cORRECT ME IF i AM WRONG SOMEONE)
II. Weldiong, is going to be the expensive bit. You might get a better price from someone like Classic_Kev or DB on this thread than from a general welder.
iii. Shocks and springs: Kai has just done my rears, and I watched DB do the fronts and am pretty sure I would do my own next time. Not expensive but once again... complete axle not one ata atime.
iii. Swivel pin seals and bearings I know nothing about
iv. Wheel bearings you should be able to do with your eyes shut by now! Why are they still failing though. Are you sure they are going in squarely, packed with enough grease? A second opinion from one oif the forementioned should set you straight. If you are going through this many then there has to be a reason for it.
iv. Props are supposed to be aligned 'n' balanced. I know that you can get a judder if the UJ is damaged or seized and also if the sliding joint is not working properly. I killed my transfer box because I didn't check my props or know how they were supposed to be behaving. Reconditioning is really cheap and straightforward, (though I got help from Kev and Jai when we did the UJs. Beware opf the tardiss effect in Kev's garage of you ever get to visit it. We still don't know where a UJ cup ended up!)
All in all not the end of the world. I am always available to help if I know enough but if not I will tell you so. Plenty of tools, tea, beer and swearing so feel free to call if you want another pair of hands on a job or two.
ALSO
There's a disco1 in a scrapyard in Dunstable. Mostly intact, TDI I think. interior is leather and axles n so on arel present. If you want any bits it might be worth a trip.
Cheers
Ryder
