Hertfordshire Lanes?????

Well I am now seriously upset that I missed alol the fun but some things can't be avoided!

We've only scratched the surface at the amount of lanes that we did today, there's so many more we didn't get to today. 3 hours stuck put paid to further exploration.

I think i found a couple more bywats out hemel apsley way today

You missed out again mate, mind you I'm not sure your roof rack would have got under some of the trees. You would have loved the mud run. Farmer is really cool about people having a go. Landy driver himself and we've got his mobile for rescue purposes if we ever need it. I wish they were all so friendly.

We drove Ashwell Lane today from the other end, but there's a gate before the tricky bit. Still locked. Another 3-4 weeks till it's open.

Cool. Should be sorted as soon as my bits turn up. Getting a spare tyre or mabe 2 sorted in the week. Dash parts are ordered. Mud dash bits ordered. Oil to be changed and then Its all go!

Ryder Should be over to yours early in the morning after I get back from Tring. Mabe 9.00/9.30 get this Transfer box up but must leg it pretty quickly I have to pick up Rachels sister from Mk at some point Jai

That looks like lots of fun! I nearly tagged along, just aswell I didn't as I still don't have any front Recovery points

yea was a good day - some nice pics of that last tow which got him out!

going to get my photo's up now - going to facebook them as well if any of you have that - feel free to add!

and i forgot to say that last glug hole - i reckon we should make an afternoon of it. i have the numbers of a bunch of the guys we met there - they can come down and have a go as well. if we have at least 4 landy's there we can sort each other out easy - 3 is probably enough. but i missed out on all the dirt this time coz someones tyres would have been better off replaced with ribbed condoms and so had to get towed out

Carpy I would suggest that you don't post the muddy pics under the heading greenlaning some people may well get the wrong idea. sounds like you all had Fun Very jelious! Jai

Yes, but as I said the farmer is really cool about playing in it. He comes down just to watch for the entertainment value.

I think I'm about to start a riot on another thread.

Some bloke is trying to tell me to drive off road in high range and no difflock and he has never been stuck and that high range is better he gets through when others don't.

I have deleted my rant,

how can he possibly qualify that when hundreds of thousands have proven otherwise. i think you should invite him to that hole we were playing in yesterday - see if he manages there!

Jai I know the one your on about-hasnt needed it yet apprently.I think he has probbaly been lucky because hes got a quite sorted motor, but i would guess he bought it kitted up and doesnt know the limits of a standard vehicle.

another update, stil not got my disco running, i did have a brake tho i didnt do anything til today since thursday, Got the water pump off after getting a welder and a few hours work but now got a bolt stuck and now rounded on the bottom pully so cant get it off to get the damper off, i took the rad intercooler and grill off to make room and will av a go welding tomorow.

Blimey Jamie, you're in the wars with your motor! What is it with you and stuck Bolts? Are you using big fu** off sockets with super sized impact drivers and bloody great club hammer or are you still using a vauxhall cavalier 3/8 socket set with a small pursuader? If you need extra kit I have a few bits and pieces that might be of use so just shout and I'll come down if I can be of use. In any case its sometimes less irritating when two fail then it is with just ones self!

Talking about failing... Jai came over this morning to help with the xfer box... completre failure, couldn't get them to mate together and ended up naffing the input seal completely! Gonna have a retry with all the gearbox mounts stripped off the gearbox and chassis out of the way (thanks Kai).
