Went out today with Max and Carpy, Leonberger joined us about lunchtime for a couple of hours. Did some lanes I'd never done before, mostly gentle stuff, until LB joined us, then I found a lane following a stream, very tight with a big drop on one side into the stream. Things were going well until we came across a tree that we couldn't get under. Turning around or reversing was a no go, so it was over the top of the tree.
It was all going well for Carpy until I realised a 110 was a bit longer than mine.
Oops, Carpy didn't want his side steps anyway.
and Leonberger wanted another souvenir too.
Leonberger left us to have a romantic anniversary dinner in a restaurant, so we carried on. All going well until we found a little detour at the side of a lane. The Farmer turned up and said we could have a go as it was on his land, plus he had a tractor handy if we got really stuck, well I don't turn down offers like that.
Max dicided it was time to get his Landy muddy, so went first.
Then he got stuck. Spyderman to the rescue. I pulled him back so he could have another go, but it was too much. Managed to pass him, after a bit it shunting and got though it myself after mucho reversing and having a go at ramming speed, but I was dragging all of the way.
I did manage to get it pretty muddy though.
Max eventually got out by dragging him from outside of the ruts and big thanks to a 90 that turned up to help.
In the end Carpy pulled him the last bit, I was well impressed to have driven that bit unasisted. It was a total quagmire. The Farmer did nothing but laugh the whole time. Top bloke though for letting us have a go.
I think Max has now been christened as an official Herts Laner.
