My first step before pulling injectors would be to remove the viscous fan and cowl, you do have to take off nearside RAD hose. Then you can access the crank bolt with ease to try turning the engine.
The injector with the needle lift sensor #4 would be hard to remove without the window socket because of the wires, damage it and you are looking at about £300 for a new one.

what is the firing order for the 2.5 diesel? is it 1,5,3,6,2,4,?knowing this could tell me which cylinder is having the problem.if i remove injector 1, put a long screwdriver into its hole. if it goes down a short distance and touches the piston it will be cylinder 6 thats the problem, if it goes half way down it will be 5 or 2, all the way down , it will be 3 or 4.

Don't know why you need the firing order, see post #82, remove fan cowl and injectors, turn engine over using the crank bolt and see which injector hole water comes out of.if you get water then it's time for head off because it's probably cracked, more common than head gasket.

my idea was to reduce the amount of injectors i have to remove,
