damn.
Less work to just take the injectors out. Be careful with no4 or don’t try without window socket. Other 5 should come out okay. Glows can snap off if they have welded in. Easier with manifold off not sure how you’d manage with one arm is fiddly enough with two
I'd give my right hand to be ambidextrous. My boots have zips on them. Got me thinking though....which hand?
I’m right handed but if i lose that arm will I be left handed or more likely unable to do anything without my right hand?
That's a tough deal but I suppose it must be easier if you have never known any different. I came close to losing my right arm below the elbow after an accident, it still gives me the horrors if I think about it.i was born with only the right arm so i am naturally right handed.lol
The window socket is definitely 27mm window double deep, I've just checked with my spare injector and socket. Injector spill pipe is 3.2internal diameter,I ordered some from Gates it seems to be lasting longer than the crap they sell in motor factors.just came back from brothers.firstly no matter how hard i hit the 32mm open ended spanner clockwise, the thermo fan would not come undone. so i removed the air intake and the plastic cover too reveal the injectors. the fuel feed pipes were easy to undo with the 17mm open ended spanner. the spill pipes were a differant story, they would not pull off.one eventually did come off the other side one broke off, only to find out that the lambda sensor double window socket i took up there did not fit. so i could not remove the injector. so no further now than before.
No good mate as you found out, check out the Bay not a lot of money.after i had tried the socket and it did not fit, i cleaned it up so that i could read the size, it said 7/8 af . it was the only window socket dave had.
they list no length bmw injector removal socket, 80mm long 100mm long and 200mm long, which is best?No good mate as you found out, check out the Bay not a lot of money.
Sorry been up to my ears 80 mm should do the job,I measured the one I have and internal length is about 50mm.they list no length bmw injector removal socket, 80mm long 100mm long and 200mm long, which is best?
Good news about the engine. I expect the battery is low now which will not help with getting the FOB's to sync.latest update. today a mobile mechanic came out with a thin fancy spanner, put it down between engine and radiator, engine turned over manually, so obviously not seized or water/ diesel in combustion chamber.now it has "engine imobilised" on dash, key access code will not operate, so now he cant try to start it with starter. keys will not open doors using buttons only manually.before you ask . i was not there.to tell him to put the key into door lock or ignition and press the fobs. it is being taken away tommorrow to have the starter motor taken out and tested and the red power cable tested.
So not far off flat but should be enough to play.battery was tested at 12.4
