Well my welder buddy has been extremely busy lately but hopefully I can get my sills done this week and into the MOT station.
It should pass so will be looking for a days laning very soon ;)

Was doing well today brousing the web for a new Disco on site while waiting for the hail to stop. Found a nice looking 300tdi, few nice toys. Bit expensive but sure with a haggle it would be good.
Was gonna ring the bloke till I realised it was in Sheffield.

Think I'm ficking it up! I've just wired the 2 leads directly into a fused cig plug!! There is only 2 leads lol

So it's connecting via the cig socket? They often become faulty in themselves so this could be the issue. Like I said before wire direct to battery with an inline fuse, this will give you a definite CB or wiring fault, if the CB is ok I would remove the socket and wire it directly into the wiring behind the socket. Aso hav you used the socket for anything else or just the CB?

My CB works off the cig lighter socket in the dash (300 Tdi Disco) ... as does my laptop, GPS and iPod, no issues ... for what it's worth .. ;)

Sourced a 4 bolt flange diff from a td5 and another steering box! Got half shafts sorted again that don't look like bananas so we should be 4wd again soon. Looking to be on the road re-offroad prepped by Christmas.

Be bored of the lack of speed in less than a week and it'll be back up for sale in under a month.
I'd be willing to put money on it lol

My lifes a lot different now fella. I drive the connect every day so im used to slow lol. We been to an RSPCA rescue centre today and put a deposit on a dog, and theres no way its going in the saloon so its either get a touring 335 or sell up, get a 110 and be done with it!

*sigh* drained all the oils over the weekend, did the rear diff and got around 2L of water instead of oil  followed by some grey sludge :( bought some cheap engine oil so i can flush it out and then cross my fingers.

Have you checked where the water might be coming from?

Mine needed a new seal after running on water, but I think it was one on the drive shaft flanges not fitted with enough sealant.

For those with defenders I have got an offer for you all. I have got a brand new, never fitted set of rock/tree sliders for a 90. They are heavy duty items and come with the mounts and a fitting kit. They retail for £235 new, im happy to take £130 for you guys (what I paid) before I put them up for general sale...

Dan, I thought I'd sent a reply earlier today, but can't see it so I apologise .. I can't send attachments via LZ pm, so the following is the pics you asked for ..

First shows the cb with an in-line 5a fuse wired to one side of a chocblock, together with the power supply for my laptop. The other side of the laptop connects to a normal cig lighter accessory plug, so I can use the laptop and cb together. I also use a double adaptor so I can also plug in and charge my GPS receiver and/or iPod ..

Second pic shows the general mess resulting ... I promise this will be cleaned up eventually and most things will connect 'properly' without having to use a cig lighter plug and adaptor!

Well aren't we all having fun
Just got back from a fantastic weekend in Wells next to the sea. Should have been going in the Disco as there are loads of great looking fords nearby, but had to give in and go in the passat.

Going to take the drive flange off this week and see how deep the sheered bolt is. Hopefully work something out if not I'll take Jon's advice, replace the bearing and live with 4 out of 5 bolts holding it together.

Bloody landys, but hey its fun when they work.
