Yer I think my head will see the light and I'll pick a Disco II. Dunno what yet, have to see what cash I have spare when I decide to buy.

I'll let you know when I'm breaking it. ;)

The whine on the Disco has got a lot worse recently, sounded like ti was from the back so checked for wheel bearing play and topped up diff and no improvement.

Checked the fronts this evening and it had some play, really wanted to use the Disco this w/end so decided to grease it and try nipping it up a bit, started putting it all back together and then one of the fooking drive flange bolts sheered - bloody wonderful.

So I'm sitting here with a cold beer. Think I'll cheer myself up and see how many people i can shoot (Battlefield 2).

if its only 1 bolt it will be ok, i have got a hub with a bolt snapped of deep inside, its been like it for a while, will get a new one at some point but it hasn't failed yet

Still got a few jobs to do before its back on the road including the steering box which has now shat its load on my drive and both diff seals are leaking.

Anyone got a 300TDi Vac pump off a knackered engine?

Has anyone got working land rover left? seems its the month for breakdowns, unless you own a Jeep apparently....

I have sorted my handbrake after finding the drum went oval (god knows how but it had a high spot), swapped it for my disco one and now its all nice and works well... now just need to sort the diff seals although they are only weeping and replace that crunchy gearbox....

Totally agree everyones landrovers are dieing this month - BAD TIMES!

They get used and abused, its only a matter of time before they have issues. I just seem to have had a years worth all at the same time :D

It will be back, bigger and better though :)

Mines broke too :0( front drivers side brake over heated Wednesday. Piston and shoes seam to be moving ok, but I'm off on hol tomorrow morn so I've left it with a mate that owns a garage. A bit lazy, but I'll want it for work when I get back.

mines fixed now bar the front prop uj that i might do over the weekend if i can get my arse in gear and stop cracking open beers with all this hot weather we are having

I'm not counting my chicken yet but the big end shells were well worn. Just got to put oil in the morning to see if it's any better. Then change over the turbo from my new donor engine. Fingers crossed.
