If you want the terrafima steering bar your welcome to it, give us a drink as and when, it will only get put in my workshop with all the other bits and forgotten about.

Just a quick update on my progress. When you change the main shells make sure you take 5 sets out of one engine to put in the other, cos I only took out 2. DOH!
It was only when I stripped the rest of the donor engine I found my mistake.
By this afternoon I should be up & running again. Just got a couple of other thing's to change at the same time.

Working nights at the Olympics has being rather boring lately so I've been exploring......

Supplying drinking water for the games so running a couple of lorries on site 24/7 till end of September. Shift work doing about 14 hour shifts threw the night.

A tube of black and white tiger seal later and they're bloody suck in and never coming out again!





Next step is to bond the glass into the frame without all the other ****e to form a window in the roof. It won't open and close so it won't leak!

Also tested a believed to be good diff - no rumbles or bangs and it seems nice and tight so now have to wait for the wide angle prop to appear.

Small steps and all that lol :high5:

Just want a decent steering box now that can be bolted on with no faffing.

I turn my wheel all the way right and as i pull away it sounds like its rubbing on the tyre i turn the wheel all the way left and there is no rubbing noise or anything is it the lock stops or something else?

turn the wheels hard right put park brake on get under and see if the wheel is touching radius arm, if so you will need to adjust the stops. if its just started and it was ok before it could be something more sinister.

Also check steering box is central, same number turns to each lock.

Mains can't handle anywhere near the volumes required to run the olympics

I will do that for sure just wanted to ask! What else could it be as you said could be something sinister. Just asked here first incase there was only one reason why

Check what's been said first, and don't worry about anything else. If you put It up on axle stands you will be able to move the wheels by hand and look at the same time.

I'm after an ignition barrel for a 2.5td 90. Don't suppose anyone is breaking one?

Most people rebuild Defender's, but try RGB.

Wasn't sure if someone might of been doing a conversion because I thought you were meant to change the barrel if you were, I might be completely wrong on that. Still learning, think I will always be learning haha.
