gutted for you gav, what your plan renew the rings and bearing shells?

well mine aint getting done today,i couldn,t get the bits from lawnrover for today mon was the earliest,so i ordered them from island 4x4 yesterday morning and they said they would be here today guess what they didn,t turn up,like the last lot off parts i ordered, and after being treated like **** on the phone asking when they would arrive, ive cancelled them and i will be going elsewhere in future.in the meantime my local auto factors has ordered me a bottom gasket kit for tommorow morning only £3 more than the idiots at 4x4

so looks like we,ve both had a bad day

You two boys are really having a load of bad luck. Gav..shop around for your engine bits, forget "Genuine" bearings and rings..Land Rover never made their own, they were supplied by the likes of Vandervelle or Glacier and AE for the rings. If you have a branch of Ferrari Piston Services (FPS) locally, they should be able to supply all the shells, rings and even the gasket sets. Make sure you have a piston ring compressor for fitting the pistons back in with the new rings on.
Andy, you ain't faring much better...always a hold up, late delivery etc. etc. when your waiting to get stuck in.
Just shout lads if you need more advice.:frusty::ballchain:

well i get my bits tommorow, then i,ll get it sorted, then it,s going to go the wife has decided she doesn,t want it anymore as it,s more trouble than it,s worth,so god knows what will replace it,i fancy a new disco but the wifes looking at a maybe a landcruiser just don,t know what the future holds yet??????

i wouldn,t have got shot gav but now that we are back to one car for the time being it,s not been reliable and my wife needs it for work,as there is only her wage coming in at the moment, untill i can get a job, which at the moment doesn,t look likely as more people are getting laid off :(

i was under the redundancy threat just coming up to and just after crimbo, luckily the metals industry is recovering and things are getting more stable, even had some o/t. i think the company responded well to the global situation and managed to put measures in early to avoid major losses. keep yr chin up, i know how depressing it can be sat at home without a job, been made redundant when steelworks closed and with the hundreds of others it was hard to find suitable paid work but if you keep looking something will turn up. fate has a way of paying hard workers. also a fair bit of interview bull**** helps!!!:D:D:D

fps just off Rutland rd in Sheff if you need em Gav

aye, looked em up on t'intermaps thingy. it showed em as off the parkway but i can give em a ring. you dont happen to have the nuber for the rutland road place do ya?
