Gav...I'm going nuts here:frusty:
Let's start again.....On Rimmers listing, the bolt for the flexplate aligner ring IS listed as FS110251L for the 4.0 and 4.6 auto V8.
So it appears my first post was right, apart from the quantity.
Check the length etc. and if it's a standard pitch thread, what I said about using a normal bolt still stands. If it happens to be a metric fine pitch and you have a good bolt stockist locally, you should still get them but go for at least 8.8 tensile.

been out for a bit, they are the six hex cap bolts, fine pitch thread that hold the centre of the sandwich plates to the crank. cheers for help, will order some on tuesday!

INCIDENTLY I HAVE BEEN USING DLS IN DERBYSHIRE, EXCELLENT SERVICE AND VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. EVEN ALLOWED ME TO TRANSFER PAYMENT TO THIER ACCOUNT RATHER THAN HAVE TO USE DEBIT CARD WHICH CAN TAKE 3 DAYS TO SHOW. ORDERED ROCKER BOLTS SO I'LL GIVE EM A CALL ON TUESDAY SEE IF THEY CAN POP THE OTHERS IN.

sorry for caps, cant be arsed to retype all that lot!

well the engine was out now it,s back in fully assembled and all back together bar the rad,as ive decided to put a new one in,a perfect day of weather helped, especially finishing off down the pub for a nice pint and bar meal.

whats happend to your bolts gav

they were v tight, and hex bolts are **** in theyre very nature! so it ended up rounding the hex bit:doh::doh::doh:.

will drill em and use new now cos i dont trust em to hold 183(ish originally) horses to the gearbox! luckily its on the old crank so its no loss really!

havnt you stripped the engine? you just slung a new one in?

not a new block gav just stripped the flywheel etc and the main bearing, all ive done is replaced the crucifix seals, rear crank seal and fitted a new drive plate

well you may be pleased to know i'm up to heads, at the point where you would strip to get the head gaskets done!! not doing bad, will have it running by weds if the bolts for the bloody rocker turn up what with b/holidays and all.

well an update.

all back together now just waiting on the bolts for the rocker and i can oil her up( well put the rest in as i poured oil all over the valley and down the heads after tightening. so tomorrow she'l be burbling away.

its quite unbelievable how many v8 experts there are wandering through the yard where i am doing it. suddenly every fooker and his auntie can do the v8 rover engine and they can do it blindfold with a fridge on thier back!

not fecking one of em picked a spanner up tho!

also i fecked another part up! the little stub on the plenum for coolant at the front it needed the new gasket on it!, well i tried to undo it it with penetrating oil and brute force, not a good idea, trick is to pour hot water over it and gently tease the bolts out.

so i am now able to drill and tap holes in ally plenums!! well done me.

also the little collets on the springs are very dangerous when fired out the valve assy and into the ether. took fecking ages to find em!!

still no bolts, they are prolly delayed in the b/hol post! so i'm hoping and praying they turn up in the morning.

also, how do i tighten the crank pulley, it says 200 foot pounds in the manwell, this seems alot and i dont want to break anything. the tork wrench only goes to 115 aswell

Lock the flywheel. The pulley bolt is quite beefy and will take more than you can manage even if you take a double dose of Viagra.
Set the wrench at max. and give it some more..just guess it.Sure you are more than capable!!
Regarding the bolts..if you are desperate, find a local good fastener/engineering supplier and they should have them. Obviously, the bolt size and tensile strength was specified to take more than all the horses that the engine can throw at it.
Would think there would be someone in the Rotherham/Sheffield/Doncaster area as that's engineering (And Full Monty) country!!!!:tea:

im not surprised the old ones shredded if thats the torque setting for them,on mine they are only set at 85nm which is why they were fairly easy to remove

i'm not on about the bolts on the fly wheel, i sorted them, its the rocker shaft ones i'm waiting on.

the 200ftlbs refers to the crank pulley that the belt goes on to drive aircon/alt/pas/waterpump (should have just said fan belt shunt i?)
