Disco Tray back build

Got 1 arm done and installed, the other bracket is a bit tight and needs adjustment.

A good inch of weld should hold a tonne

Top one looks like it could be a bad bit of TIG, bottom one definitely looks like MIG, if it doesn't look like fish scale and more like an overlapping set of cursive e's its not TIG its MIG

Then again he could have just built it up poorly with the TIG

He could have root tig'd and caped with mig but i doubt it????

Don't worry as long as it was set up right it doesn't particularly matter what it looks like it'll be plenty strong enough mig is more than adequate

Just measured up for my new brake lines and on the front there is 2 sets of brake lines... my question is what does the second line do as most only have one..

Oh and im going to attempt to get the lump in tomorrow!

No cold lap.

On pressure tested stuff I do tig root run(instead of low hyd rod) then finish with arc

On my suspension arms I do tig root and 2nd pass then mig for a good build up with the job still hot

Might explain the look if that's what was done.

200s have 2 brake hoses up front as they are twin circuit caliper.

I recently bought the calipers, bias valve and master cylinder of ayresy's 300 so that one day I can get round to converting to single circuit calipers. This is because I want to reroute my brake lines and its easier with one pipe

I read somewhete about blocking 1 output of the master cylinder and routing 1 caliper input into the bleed nip from the other side to equal 1 line going from master cylinder to caliper.... but would this pass a mot?
But if not ill have to do as you are... want to get my new lines ordered asap.


On another note wish me luck! V8 is going in today!!!!! Might even have it running if all goes well!
