I've had an idea to overcome the limits of the ball joint on the rear by using a large rose joint mounted upright.
It would have unlimited movement left and right - for articulation, and normal movement up and down which would be fine as up and down travel is not very important.

My question is what size rose joint would be required, is there any info on how strong the existing ball joints are?
The ball joint has a 20mm bolt protruding from it, so as long as its larger and stronger i would assume it would be all good, right? :D

Just found this,A Frame Joint - Suspension - Range Rover Classic - 1 of 1 - Qt Services
I would be mounting it differently mind you, but it answers my question on will it work!

This is how I plan to mount it.

Hey guys, got a question about poly bush's, got my new arms ready to weld up, abut before I do I want to make sure they are ready, on the axle end in going to poly bush the joint rather than a standard bush, the design looks a lil different, it seems to have a flared bit that sits between the side of the arm and the axle mount, but the normal bush doesn't.
Is there any modification required to get the poly bush to fit. this is what I'm talking bout
Superpro Rear Trailing Arm Bushes Rear Eye End SPF0129K (NTC1772) - Polyurethane Bushes - Suspension - Range Rover Classic - Qt Services

Genuine or even the cheaper mettalistic bushes. my polys lasted 3 months detroit locker in the rear gives the bushes an extra hard time but 3 months was ridiclious

funny you guys say that, I've heard allot of bad press about them, so what the alternative?
The old rubber/metal ones, the new D3 ball joint bush or is there an alternative?
