Not everyone agrees but me i'd never fit polys again. IMO the ride was harsh, articulation limited, more stress on chassis mounts, they wore out quickly and although easy to fit they not good for my mota. At the time I was offroading every weekend competing in trials. They lasted 3 months. cheap britpart ones would last a year/year and a half genuine ones would last longer but I use the cheapo ones as they get changed when they die 1 to 2 years depending on how much grief the motor gets that year.

Nene overlander offroader 90 in al the mags from the 90's was sold to a friend of ours my bro looked after it all rose jointed. Rattled so much and they were not all that old apparently. will never fir rose joints for the same reason pressbrake mentioned. Track car great, being burried in porridge not really suitable

Exactly

Whilst we're talking about joints, I'll raise a problem I am having.

Panhard rod.

Stock one was fitted with polys, but they wore a little I think and there was play at both ends, definitely the chassis end anyway.

I have tremendous trouble with wheel shake on my reverse offset rims and any axle shimmy through the panhard rod being loose probably doesn't help.

Anyway, in the interests of progress I bought a Qt adjustable rod a while back.

This had multiple benefits because it was adjustable so I could realign the axle due to the suspension lift, it was rose jointed and this was threaded so I could square up the joint in the axle mount as the axle even at rest was twisting the stock bushes, and further to this it would be sweet for articulation.

SO.

It was all good for a while, OEM bush in the chassis end, but STILL it rattles back and to at the chassis mount, no matter how tight you do the bolt up.

Do I need another new bush? Do I need a new bolt?

Has anyone has this trouble before?

Just annoying! :D

The QT panhard has a rose joint on the axle end right?
if so check that for wear.

BALLS just won a pair of early Def radius arms for my 90 for 0.99p! (like to have a spare set one to rebush and swap out in one go. I Sold my spare set). No problem However they're fitted with new cheap polys. Do I just run them until they wear out circa 4 or 5 months or rebush them now.

I might just put them on and moan like an old fecker when they make it handle like a boat after 4 months.

In the middle of scrapping the disco. engine is sold gearbox will be going on ebay transfer box will be getting reconned. rest is off to scrapyard. even interior is going and it's a good un Grey cloth with the "LandRover logo running thru it. No fooker seems to want owt off it so dumping the lot.
