Thanks for the reply turbo man. Live right in the centre of Bodmin as we own a shop. There a nice wetherspoons here or just outside Bodmin on the wadebridge road is the Borough Arms / Inn, right on the camel trail, plenty of parking. Knew loads of lanes in Devon, but lacking the local knowledge down here!!

Maybe somewhere a bit more meet in the middle? I live near Hayle, and Mart lives up Druth. We used to meet at the Treleigh Arms, just round the corner from Marts, but we could spin up the bypass a bit, I should think. :)

What do you sell in the shop?

There arent many lanes around you, as far as I know. Dont know why, but there arent many mid cornwall. Few down south east cornwall, few down here. Isolated ones on the Lizard and in North Cornwall. Not a great area for lanes, really. Most are fairly short, a few miles at best, only a few hundred yards on some. Not like Wiltshire and Hampshire, or Wales or the Yorks moors.

Is anybody interested in a meet? As in one I will definitely be able to make? I am back home again and hoping to get the landy on the road on Friday.

Excellent, I might sort something out for next Monday or Tuesday, I'm down to one car and the landy now so getting around in the daytime will be harder until the landy is sorted but I will look at coming over then?
If we get more interest then we can always arrange a pub meet.

Monday or Tuesday are fine. Could meet at the Crown Inn or somewhere similar, split the distance?

Hello to all the fellow south westerners.
I'm Luke, live in the depths of Kernow with my FL daily drive. If you ladies and gents are arranging a meet us be very interested. Will have to hold of on proper green laning until I source a new prop shaft (2wd atm) and probably even then wouldn't keep up with you guys in the defenders etc haha.
Anyway, would be good to meet any local landyzoners

Not many lanes round here you couldn't drive in a 2wd freebie.
I wouldn't go out laneing at this time of year, every man and his wife, and their six dogs and four kids are out and about.
Not to menshun the vicious vegetation that will rip up yer paint.
Wet winner marning izza time forren, buy! :D
And I don't have a Defender, never have! ;)

As you can see,^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^, there was an unsuccessful attempt to organise a pub meet a while back.

Keep an eye on the fred for any further developments.:)

I wouldn't attempt Green laning in a 2wd but will as soon as the prop and VCU is on.
Although even in 2wd I'm thankful for the extra ground clearance over a normal motor in day to day driving.
Well hopefully a meet happens. I'd look forward to it

Really wouldn't worry about it too much, Only a handful of lanes west of the moor that I wouldn't drive in my Clio. Many are pretty much surfaced now, either to access houses, or used in the building of solar parks.

There are a few places I go where wheels losing traction is a regular thing. Despite the extra stability when the weather turns and the odd off-road excision in south Wales. I'm looking forward to getting 4wd

Where do you normally all go? I'm only Wiltshire and on the South Western edge. I'd like to get involved too!

We don't really nowadays! :( Most of the people in the fred are otherwise engaged. Muds has moved upcountry, Martyn has sold his Defender, and quite a way from completing his Minerva. Monkfish is working abroad. Billy B just very busy, AFAIK.
I am still here, pretty busy with farm work and other stuff, but would be up for a trip wintertime.

All the locations featured are in Devon and Cornwall. Most down this end, as this is where most of us live.

Check it out from a map, we are near Hayle. Be warned, it is a long way, 175 miles to even the western border of Wilts at a guess!

But if you are ever down this way, drop me a PM, I will take you out for a bit of a tour if you like? Don't get your expectations up too much, though, there is nothing like the amount or variety of lanes that there is in Wits or Hampshire. Most are quite short, and there are very few you couldnt drive in a normal car in dry conditions

I'd probably come down, and make a weekend of it, (camping) but that's very kind! I'll drop you a message and we shall definitely arrange something!

Assuming you are talking a single tent or caravan, I should think it would be OK to camp here. Many have before, there are a few level-ish patches, and outside tap in the yard can be accessed anytime.
