For the manuals you will have to hook up the ammeter to the battery and do it the old fashioned way to test the BeCM waking up and sleeping. Besides which will you a more accurate picture
just remember it needs 2 - 4 minutes to fall asleep. should then draw about 0.03A if i recall correctly. and remember the problem isn't so much about whether it will go to sleep as it is about how often does it get woken up.
I have timed the BECM on my 2000 DSE auto.
It takes exactly 2 mins to go asleep. I found having the bonnet open doesn't effect the time either. Starts off at 0.63A then drops to less than 10 mA.
No difference. I just locked the car on the fob and it took exactly 2 mins to go asleep with the bonnet both open and also closed. Of course the alarm beeped with it open.
I made a plug to activate the bonnet switch to the closed position when it was actually open so I could measure the current easily.
