Ok I will go through this to the best of my knowledge.

Right so we have good connections.

You are not in lockout mode yet, your car is alarmed and thinks its getting nicked.
Yep and it often doesnt make sense ;)

fob?

Yes I understand the EKA code required. that is still not the end of the world, and you are not there yet.

I totally understand your frustration, but slow down a bit.

A Nanocom will not communicate if the car is in alarmed/lockout state, (this is a debatable subject as I dont have a Nanocom, and seperate from this thread so dont claim to know).
But if you cant see coms with it you cant do anything with it.

Your car sees it open, its just disabled for starting cos it thinks its getting nicked.

Do you have 2 fobs?

J
It will never want THE EKA as the OP states that the EKA function is off.

How can you clear the RF memory if as you state, you cannot access the BECM. If you can access the BECM to clear the RF memory, that pretty much confirms that the BECM is not locked.
Of that I am not sure. It is difficult to know what happens. Normally once you connect to becm there is the diagnostics mode on the dash. That’s not the case now, everything that happens after that I cannot be sure about if it is truly done e.g. rf memory clear. Becm lets me do it in the same way you can change settings but never can save them although it says it has saved the changes.

Ahhhhh.... there is a page visible in Nanocom "Security" pages that tells you whether your BeCM is LOCKED or UNLOCKED.
By all means go look at it but whatever you do, do NOT try to change that setting. If it says your BeCM is "Locked" then you will NOT be able to make any changes AFAIK. The BeCM has to be in an "UNLOCKED" state for the Nanocom to be anything other than a read only device. Maybe we should ask for @Rick-the-Pick for some pointers here?

Moot apparently. If you can’t listen to advice it’s impossible to help you. We are all repeating ourselves. Plenty of advice in the searchbar or JLR maindealer.

Good luck.
True lots of good folks here with very good advice. I just need time processing everything and check if my understanding of things is correct. We live and we learn nobody is born al knowing.

If you clear the RF memory and then read the RF memory, what does it show?

I might make a short video about it and share it with you.
But basically the becm makes some clicking noise. There is already a message upon opening the menu that the becm
Has received a valid code. When you press clear, a menu opens to tell you that it clears its memory. Afterwards it starts reading codes. The message remains the same, that it has received a valid code.

So you do have communication with the BECM at least to some extent? Clicking noises from BECM, have you checked the supply voltage at the BECM and the earths?

Yes I also checked the connections on the fusebox that are labelled becm.

I have clean earth points also.

I think I’ll have to recap and go over some stuff again.
Somebody I believe pwood? said that when you disconnect the battery the car should actually remain open if it was open before a disconnect.

Mine automatically locks the car if I reconnect the battery even if I had manually unlocked the doors.
That could potentially mean another door latch problem but maybe not the drivers door.

I’ll try to get some more access on the passenger side to really get where I need to for some better measurements.

If you open a door with the key in the ignition, do you get a message on the display?
Have you done the manual FOB synchronisation procedure? Key in door lock, turn to lock, press and hold the FOB lock button briefly, turn to unlock press and hold the FOB unlock button briefly. You may have to do it a second time reversing the procedure.

Mine will sometimes lock the doors on a battery reconnect, never quite worked out why. I always have the drivers door window open when working on the car.

Yes I tried to do the syncing as you described.

I don’t think I get a message on the dash straight away for door open or something else. But I need to check again.

The aerial for the RF receiver has to be connected for this to work.
With the key in the ignition, if you open the drivers door, you should get a key in ignition message. There is a switch in the ignition barrel that signals the presence of the key. If it is stuck or not working i can cause problems.
