I think the wiring would be OK , i was just concerned about the becm handling it without getting grumpy.
I intend wiring it to the aux caravan socket which has reverse wiring in it so that will be fine. I might refit the old reverse bulbs to get rid of the message and fit the led ones in me tratter side lights.
That will work. 😊
I changed my disco reverse bulbs a couple of year ago for fun, the only thing that changed was the colour, a white light with a faint blue tinge, the light was a bit brighter but without any extra range of illumination which I expected. ☹️

That is why I use the trailer wiring for extra reversing lights. Leave the old bulbs in place and the BECM is happy.

Job done.
The lamp has very short leads so these needed extending about 6". I had a bit of 2 core in my 'I'll keep that, might be useful one day' box so that was soldered and heat shrink wrapped and poked through the rubber socket franger, bit tight but it went through. Terminals used are yellow( positive feed) and white (ground). There are a couple of holes in the original towbar crossmember, I used the one nearest the centre, these are around 7mm and don't go all the way through so an 8mm drill was sent through and a suitable m8 stainless bolt used to mount it. Quite impressed with the quality of the lamp, all bolts and the bracket are ss. Still got the led lamps in the original rev lights, they all come on and the bulb blown message has disappeared which I wasn't expecting?
Hard to get a good pic but I'm off out later in the dark so I'll update then.

The bulb blown message has now gone as the load of the new light together with the LED's in the tail lights is now sufficient for the BECM to think the bulbs are OK. I'm a bit surprised that you have a reversing light connection if that is a 7 pin socket, reverse is normally on the 7S socket.

I've got 2 sockets, the one in the pic with the white cover is the one I used. I 'believe ' that is the older version of twin sockets when wanting to tow a caravan, run a fridge. I think nowadays that a single socket is used with 13(?) Pins to do the same job but I'm just guessing. The white socket wiring is below.

I've had the reverse light failure message for so long I don't even notice it anymore. I figured the wiring could take it but if I (or someone else afterwards) ever put an original bulbs back it might not so best fit a relay for the extra lamp.
