What is it you dont understand about matriculation in portugal i have told you im doing this with a 101 right now what you have been told is buxxxxit they will not reg that car on an uk mot certificate even if its for that vehicle.if they would i would have done it for mine rather than go through Landrover,have you been to IMT or just spoken to them because unless fluent in portugese they can be misleading in their advice as in when you turn up with your uk mot for a different vehicle they will then tell you yes but you also need another two forms which you with a modified vehicle wont get.
If its on uk plates in spain and has been there for more than 183 days it should be registered there,how are you going to get it inspected in portugal you'll have to inform customs when it arrives here as well as booking inspection,if you take it back to uk mot,tax,insure transfer into either your or your buyers name you still cant matriculate it due to modifications you will also have to look into tax due and that can be huge and also has depending on how long ownership is on log book can bring even more problems as in must be 6 months ownership with uk proof before they will reg it and cant sell for 5yrs.

I am now on my third agency having wasted 4 months with the other 2 giving me false info like youve been given i have now got everything thanks to a young lady called Lilliana who has been superb.Do not and I mean do not beleive anything your told here until you have it in your hand.Pm me if you want any help it would be easier over the phone it is a nightmare here and you only get one shot at it if its in the system and is rejected your stuck with that.

If its your agent asking for a copy of a certificate bear in mind this could only be to find out the cost of emmision tax on the IMT website so they can tell you how much matriculation will cost.when they put your vehicle details in it wont show up same happend to me with first 2 agents despite me telling them a 101 forward control will not be on the IMT website.

Not particularly. It is a public forum, and anyone can post. And I am not bothered about your issue one way or another, and, as I have commented before, have no experience of vehicle registration in your part of the world, though some in the UK.
What I do find surprising is that many people have made suggestions, including Shippers, who obviously does have relevant experience. And that you seem to find those comments offensive, and are being rude to established posters.
Shirley if you are asking people a favour it is more likely they will help you if you aren't rude to them?

Who in their right mind would go and get their car MOT'ED and send a copy of the MOT certificate to "anyone" never mind a complete stranger in another country.

Expect he wants a copy of your log book v5 as well since mot doesn't show cylinder capacity
What about refitting a 2.5 diesel engine then changing it back after the paperwork has been done.

The fact that a V8 90 can be legal in the UK is not in dispute. It is easily verified.
However a home grown V8 90 is not the same as a factory produced one.
Hence the SVA/IVA requirements in the UK if you build your own.
I can not conceive of any bona-fide government authority, having initially asked for an MOT pass certificate for the car in question, accepting a certificate from a completely separate vehicle in another country as proof yours is safe and legal in their country. It makes no sense. I'm not as green as I'm cabbage looking as my old Nan used to say.
Either you have completely misunderstood what is required, you have been badly misinformed, you are in denial and stuck with a vehicle you can't legalise, or something is amiss. There is plenty of good advice on here, especially from Shippers who seems to know his stuff, but you seem reluctant to listen. I know who my money is on.
So hypothetically lets say somebody, after having already been insulted, actually decides to take their pride and joy (say with 9 months to run on their current MOT certificate) along to have it tested and it fails on something such as emissions or a swivel oil leak? Now they have a vehicle that they can't legally drive in the UK until it is rectified at their expense £££ just for trying to help you out.
As for name calling you crack on - I hope it makes you feel better. I was always taught that if you need to resort to insults or violence you have already lost the argument. I've not seen anything in this thread to change my mind.

Ive only been annoyed by people accusing me of doing something illegal, scam or making stupid comments, Ive been on many forums over the years and am aware of the modus operandi but some of you have really been a pain and of no help at all (and yes if you accuse me of doing something illegal, make negative comments I will respond accordingly). While I appreciate advice from experienced members I am clear on what I need and if no one here is willing to do that favor in exchange for $$$ then goodbye to you all!
