3.9 efi temp sender to a 200tdi temp gauge

Hiya can anyone send me a link please, I have searched just can’t find anything,
I want to cut in a resistor so my temp gauge from a 200tdi works with my 3.9 efi,
Is it just the case of cutting resistor in line,
What make and resistance needed

Get the 200tdi sender and an adaptor to fit?
Or an aftermarket gauge and sender
