Hi Victor, sorry to see your note that your wife is ill, hope it is not too serious and she'll be back in command soon!

Your 90 looks the dogs mate, and although some have said previously that it is not their 'glass of tea' so what, the time and effort should be applauded regardless of "taste".

Your old beast is alive and well, with 50cm of snow outside in rural wild wet and wooly wales it is a godsend for my nursey wife! MOT passed last week, as you'd expect, and km speedo dial changed to miles, bit of a job though. Not much fun for the bikes this weather, was hoping to get the lemans out for a blat at easter, too much salt aroung again now though.

Let us know when you're up round here.

Cheers

hi Andy

great to hear from you - Thanks for your kind comments about Lisa - fingers crossed she will be fine.

Sorry to hear about your Guzzi being locked up due to no fault of her own - I saw a stunning 2003-plate in gold the other day - nearly bought it - but once a harley man..................

The disco passed with flying colours I presume - actually the most useful vehicle I have ever owned, one of the nicest to drive and definitely the nicest colour.

Glad to hear you got the speedo changed - no more constant arithmentical calculations as you are rolling along - now we both know how a lightning pilot must have felt - too busy doing mental maths to enjoy the ride - must be even more relaxing to drive.

Lisa and Natasha are doing a trip round wales in a VW camper van - with demented cairn terrier in tow - during the last week in may - half term - and I will be staying a few nights at my mum's so perhaps we could all meet up for a meal and a chat.

Best wishes to the family

Victor

As for your point about the engine being 'wasted' on a landie - .

oh some people are sooooooo boring....me 6.2 turbo ready soon..or me quad cam supercharged one ....santa pod?? or kensington high street/ (lol)

Well all I can say is WOW! Having just been taken for a quick spin in this monster I can safely say I have never been in a defender like it! :)

It sounds like a world war two plane approaching :)

Upon acceleration you are pressed back into your seat, then Victor politely informs you that was only half throttle!

It truely is an amazing car .... I'm just off to have my smile surgically removed and to try to come to terms with how slow my 110 is going to feel after this!

Yes Tom he does it for a living - I am surprised you haven't heard of him.

He has been working on Landrovers since 1965 - the year I was born.

Nobody is quite sure how old he is..................but there is NOTHING he cannot do/fix/convert/fabricate.

He has every model of spares car over there from a military 109 to a RR 4.2 LSE.

he has two guys that work for him - Jay is in his late 20s and has been there since leaving school and Richard is 19 and has been there since he was 14 on saturdays and full time since 16.

A bit like the Yoda/Obiwan /Skywalker situation.

Pop over there for a chat - Ganders gate farm in Glasshouse Lane - half a mile further on from the half moon pub.

yea i will pop in there at somepoint, thanks for the address, have got an old rangie i want some spares( rear door for a 1983,iv been told good luck, they r hard to find, and they are) and for and some work that might need doing, cheers for that, much appriciated, will pop in there when i have a spare day! :D

I can't imagine what that 6.3 does to your testosterone, my ikkle 3.9 gives me a mahoosive ego lol. That's the polite way of putting it.

Snowman

the best thing about the car is the way it drives - it is smooth, relaxed, planted, very comfortable (for a landie), sounds lovely and is just a nice car.

I haven't driven it like a looney yet - there is no need to - to overtake you just squeeze the throttle to halfway, and you are past the slower car in an instant - no drama or fuss, just 90mph on the speedo at 3000 rpm - it doesn't even kick down most of the time as there is so much torque.

It really is quite amusing................................
