I have had offers from both LRO and LRM - I should put it out to the highest bidder!

Yes you should they will make thousands off your story. So put the opening bid say 10K. Ask what there world wide monthly distribution is. This would be a top selling story and they would probably run it for 3-4 months as in part1 -part 4 to increase there sales and then there will be a big market for back copy's years to come. So don't sell your self short

Hello chaps

finished!

Ah yes!

That couldn't really have turned out any better!

Wheel and tyre combo is perfect, interior incredible, and 6.3 under the bonnet.

Oh and better than new everywhere.

Land rover should make your defender as a special edition!

Absolutely incredible build, huge respecto to your brain, hands and wallet!! :D

Thanks mate - and thanks for all your support and encouragement during the build - was much appreciated.

My wife is not very well at the moment and I built it for her - I am sure it will go a long way to helping her recovery.

Absolutely wonderful. The sort of thing that most of us can only dream of, after a lottery win.

Unfortunately SWMBO is very well at the moment but I live in hope. :D

magazines won't pay for features unless things have drastically changed in the few years I've not been working for them.

i admit i did feel a bit stoopid if that was the case seeing as i offered mine for a feature with no mention of moneys.

i got the impression that it was a 50/50 thing, you get a feature, they get the material...

I'm going to be in the minority here, but I don't really like it. I mean, very impressive engineering and all that - but why? I think the enjun is a bit wasted in a Landy, surely it would be better in an old Ford Zodiac or something like that. Not too keen on the exterior neither, far too shiney and them tyres look too small for the wheels. Interior's nice but could do wiv some mud on it.

Just my opinion, not everybody likes their tea the same way, eh?

i would never say it was wasted, just a very fast land rover!

We all modify our landys to our liking I'm building a challenge 90 but also my rangerover is a soft on road only toy, I'm planning on stiffening the suspention, better tyres ect to make it a Tarmac basher, each to there own :)

I take your point about the wheels - at the moment the tyres don't fill the arches - thay are the correct size tyres for those alloys on a defender - but that is because I had to lift the suspension two inches because the front prop shaft was touching the chevy headers sometimes on bumpy roads - obviously I wouldn't have left it like that so i put in a set of terrafirma spring lifters as a temporary solution.

next week I will be adjusting the headers and exhaust to route them further away from the prop - then I will take the spring lifters out and the body will sit 2 inches closer to the chassis.

As for your point about the engine being 'wasted' on a landie - I certainly wouldn't have trumpeted a ford zodiac as an alternative home for it......................57 Bel Air maybe...............................................
