Weak Spark - Why?

Good luck! I'm almost done doing all that on mine. Good thing, once it is done, it is good for another 10-15 years! Also worth checking the cam shaft, the original ones wear out after 70k km or so, and so slowly that you don't necessarily realize it.

Thanks. This engine is a sweet little lump if it's set up correctly, so that's worth doing. I don't suppose there's any easy way of measuring camshaft wear, though. Probably have to whip one out in order to to mic it up?

I don't suppose there is, but i’m sure the engine will let you know that there’s an issue with its camshaft… Tap Tap Tap

My 10 year old 3.5 RR engine did at 110k miles, but was fixed by my friendly LR dealer. So with a few other an niggly issues the RR time was up and so I replaced it with a D1 which had no issues… or rust, but the paint work was suffering being left outdoors in my 26 years of ownership.
