If I fit a puma bonnet to an earlier model, will I need the air con spacer that the centre grill attaches to?? All the ones I can find in pictures have the surround fitted, maybe because tdci's all come like that, but will the bonnet look odd without the surround? Anyone done this?

I've just bought a late td5, it had forward facing fold up seats fitted by the previous owner but I had them taken out, they didn't leave much room in the back when folded up, I just preferred the space above the wheel arches, they were good ones though. Give Nene a shout, they'd probably do...

Thanks for the replies folks, this is the one I was looking at... Defender Puma Style Bonnet | eBay mainly because it'd be closest to me for collecting, O/E ones seem to be a fortune and go for £350 - £450 on ebay from breakers etc, seems to be a bit of a rip off. I bet there's a niche market...

Wondered if anyone's fitted a fibreglass/GRP bonnet to their Defender, if so, would they recommend fitting one rather than a metal one? I know they're half the price and lighter, but are they solid enough to fix the hinges and catches to? Any sound differences?
