I know I'll get reprimanded for this but....
I've been looking at fitting some nice new 18" wheels with A/T's rather than the standard boost alloys, has anyone got any experience of driving a 90 with larger wheels, does it make a difference to road driving, does the speedo read similar? Any helpful comments would be great!!

Larger wheels does not automatically result in a larger diameter.

A 265/75x16 for instance has a calculated diameter of 31.6 inches whereas a 265/65x18 has the same diameter despite the rim being 2-inches larger (make of tyre may result in slight difference due to depth of tread etc).
If you go for a larger tyre then of course that will affect the speedo, ability to pull the higher gearing etc etc but keep to the same overall diameter and you won't notice a difference. On-road handling should be improved however as there won't be as much rubber to flex.

There are plenty of calculators out there that will let you choose the ideal size, then it is just down to choosing the make of tyre.

Perfect reply, thanks very much, so the long and short of it is, it won't improve general driving much, it just looks slightly better and might add a bit of 'bling'?

It might improve handling if you keep the same diameter tyres as this would reduce aspect ratio and therefore tyre roll but suspention mods would be much more effective.

lower profile makes a difference on performance cars as said with flex under heavy cornering. However add a huge chassis 2 feet up in the air, long springs and lots of weight and other than making it easier to damage a wheel i cant see it would make much difference other than in looks which is sometimes difference enough!
