Can't select low range advice needed

If you do need a replacement cable, don't buy a new one as I have loads. Only cost you the postage.

Very hard to change/get into gear

The revs " flaring " on gear change will be you clutch switch. It is in the line between the master and slave cyclinders in the pre-facelift and mounted directly to master cylinder on the facelift. If you have cruise, set it and see if it cancels when you put the clutch down.

    front wiper mechanism

I agree. If your wipers clonk then it will be loose bolts holding the motor housing to the plate. I think its worthwile having the bonnet of anyway to check the top of the bulkhead for corrosion.

    Galv chassis D2

The reason I ask is I have bagged a " wax oiled from new " chassis from a breaker and am having it acid stripped and galved. It is also a 3A chassis which matches mine. I'll be doing the swap myself using block and tackle from a barn roof.

    Another diff lock question

The correct sticker is no indication that the cdl lever is fitted. If the diff lock " gate " is embossed on the top of the gear knob then there is a good chance ut is.

    Headlight dilemma on 04 Discovery

Dont be fooled by the whole " genuine vs aftermarket " facelift headlights. They're only made by one company and if you look closely at a Britpart one you can even see where the landrover oval has been over stamped. All UK cars of that age should have adjutable headlights, having said that, if...

    Clicking gear change.

Mine does exactly the same when changing down from 5th. A very distinctive " click " sound. Been like it for the last 7 years !!!. Your reversing lights will jyst be a knackered switch. Test by crossing the terminals to see if the lights go on. Either that ir a fuse.

'02 Disco 2 TD5 Auto poor tickover and no power at starting.

You've certainly been looking in all the right places, so well done for that. My next step would be to find someone with a Hawkeye or Nanocom and and look at some " live data " whilst driving. You can monitor loads if sensor inputs as well as injector balance and air flow. Sound like you may...

Retro fit diff lock to d2

If you dont get the tunnel cover plate and gaiter then water and mud can get inside the car. Previously to a cable operated lever being fitted this car had a D1 lever without the gaiter. A large hole had been cut in the original cover plate which, if you look closely, let in a flood of much...
